Badminton-Backhand Clear Skill (15) The most important factor to have perfect B-Clear

Next point is, the most important point of all, more imortant 10 times 100 times more importance than every element I already have mentioned is self belief, the passion and aggressiveness to hit backhand clear some times when I go to badminton clinics two different kind of players, they learn all the techniques but when they are actually doing it those players they don’t believe they can do it. but another set of players they don’t have good technique but mentally, your passion wise there want is like mounting to hit backhand clear, I would rather train players that kind who have the self-belief and hunger to hit it watch this I am hungry I want to do backhand clear it does not matter what happens, then this players attitude will be like this, ya so he make mistake, one do it again and then next time he will try to hit again ya again eventually he will catch that feeling on the other hand this player has been taught all the techniques but he does not really believe himself or herself when he or she hits, he hits it with uncertainity with hesitation without any belief he or she will do it, so like this no I can’t do it, I can’t do it, he will try 2 or 3 times and he will say I can’t do it ya, yes of course he can’t do it because he does not believe he can do it, how can he do it I can’t change him, but I can change him if he is ok now here, I will give you 10 shots first clear he misses it but he does not care ready second clear he pushed it, I told him tap third time tap again, now fourth one hit and land together clear, next time I tell him hold and then hit it hold, hit – yes again over there, hold hit ok this time he follow throughed he follow through no, do not stretch your elbow, bend elbow and tap it again, bend elbow and tap it so, the most important technique is self belief

  1. Practicing with positive attitude and belief, you will be something in the future and you will enjoy your game time. There are many coaches in the badminton coaching area, for me I would say that coach Lee's coaching style and methods is what I need. I believe in coach Lee, I followed, I practiced, I improved my skill and I enjoyed my game times. I will keep practicing and I wish all coach Lee's followers had happy badminton time. Thanks coach Lee!

  2. I would like to thank you for your kind comment about my coaching. It is a real plesure to know that there is someone like you benefit from my clips. Thank you very much for posting your comment. Lee

  3. Coach Jae Bok nim,

I really like the way you teach badminton, it is very philosophical. I can see that you don't just teach someone how to strike a shuttle, but you teach them to strike a shuttle with self-belief and optimism! Perserverance is very important indeed, whether the result is success or failure.

I will be starting up my own badminton club in mid-June (in London, Zone 2), and once is it set up, I would like to invite you and I will be honoured by your presence.

    All the best!

  4. I think the back hand is every badminton player's Achilles' heel, and I used to have a weak backhand. I saw that all my friend also tended to use an round-the-head clear rather than play a backhand, because of the fear of a weak return. From that point I thought to myself, I will try to make this weakness my strength, and each time I played a shot to my far right hand corner, I would use a backhand to clear, even though I would lose the point. Over time my backhand has now become my strength!

  5. I am now able to backhand clear and backhand drop. I have become more bold, where I have started to work on a backhand smash. At times it would shock my opponent when I do play a backhand smash, although I am still lacking power. I think in badminton as in life – we have to confront our weakness (fear) & overcome it, in order to be a stronger player/person…It's very satisfying to be able to play the backhand clear as it has got me out of trouble in many games!!! Lastly, thanks for the videos!

  6. Thank you very much for your kind comment on my coaching. Yes I do believe the right attitude is the most important thing without this nothing will happen. I am pleased to see you see the same way. I would be delighted to be invited to your club in the near future. Thank you. Lee

  9. Hello Coach Lee,

I've been a long time follower (though not a long time subscriber), enjoying your videos. You have been a great inspiration to me when it comes to the mental attitude of playing/training. There is one thing I would like you to ask: I struggle a lot with injuries (especially knee problems). How do you deal with those issues?

  10. No everybody is different. You can improve faster or slower depending on your effort and self believe. Lee

  11. Lol 😀 this was the best one. Thanks. "I've been guilty of the I can't to it" in the past.

  12. Thank you for your comment. Lee

  15. Dear Lee,
You are a doctor of demonstration. My GOD! I feel you secretly watched me and then made this clip. I am guilty of the same attitude of behavior for my back hand clears.
Let me see if I cannot improve from now on…

  16. Thank you for your kind comment.
I am sure that self believe and will to make thing right is the most important factor and it is the most important skill of all. Lee

  17. Most important thing is having a great coach, thanks LJB!
