Badminton Basic Drills (6) – Backhand Drop and Lift

Side step first (it will give you better timing) same time move your racket to the shuttlecock. This allows better timing also and be able to make more deceptive shot. 3. Make simple impact with compact action 4. 1. sai kỹ thuật rồi…

  2. I have followed the clips and practice from drill 1 through 11 many times, recently I found my over all ability become much better than I was. I will refresh the basic drill and footwork first whenever I am in the gym. In this clip, I am thinking doing more backhand drop practice like the basic drill #8 "Drop & Net". Will it be 'OK" for doing that? and what should I focus on it? Can I have your comments and instructions? Please! Thanks coach Lee

  3. I am very pleased to know some of my clips have helped you. When you do the simple drills you must think you are playing a match. After a shot try to go back to the base and do the step one after your opponent made shot. The most important thing is you have to imagine that you do not know where your partner is going to hit. In this way you do not move before and you will develop the speed of start after your opponent made a shot. There is everything in any simple drills if you do it right. Lee

  4. so when we make a backhand clear we tap it powerfully (racket comes back right after the impact) and when we make a backhand drop we dont tap it? (racket moves forward after the impact)
the footwork is the very same

    did i get that right?

but when/how do we slice it? (i think we only slice it for the backhand crossdrop – how exactly do we do it?)

  5. Yes you are right. Powerful tap for clear and follow swing for drop shot. Yes backhand cross drop you slice but backhand stright drop also you should slice but less. As this way your accuricy would be better then try to hit it without any slice. Try slice drop when you do straight backhand drop. If you try number times you will see why it is better. If you clice 50% for cross drop then slice 10-15% for straight drop. Lee
