Badminton: Follow Lee (2) The Net Kill 2-3 (How to Hit)

CoachingBadminton.com Follow Lee – Lesson 1 – 3 The Net Kill (How to hit) How to hit there are 3 types in net kill number 1 with bigger swing when shuttle is bit heigh definitely finish it number 2 when shuttle is reasonably heigh I cannot make big swing because its quite tight we have to do the tap number 3 when shuttle is too tight so if you tap it more likely you will touch the net then you have to brush it so 3 different techniques ok watch this please How to do power net kill ok this is power kill power kill ready shuttle is bit heigh here you definitely kill it bang but make strong action in front of you like this here in front but many of them when shuttle is in the air they think its already finished they are so excited, yes good chance good chance ya they do too big swing so they make mistake ok this is the right way, shuttle bit quite heigh but making strong action, but make the action in front of you here here the wrong way, big circle swing ya its big watch again right way here here, there not like that same backhand same idea in front there bang but same they do make too big swing this is right way power but the action is made in front of my body here there ya throw to me the wrong way ya its too big change bang bang not like this How to do tap net kill ok when shuttle is not too tight, not too heigh middle then tap hold tap ok thats tap now the technique the racket face must be faced the shuttle cock before I hit ready, racket face should be facing the shuttle cock and then hit watch face hit there face it tap face it tap face the shuttle face face it rather than changing grip hitting same time change hit change hit it takes bigger swing and takes more time compare there tap face focus on my racket, ready shuttle is coming, before you hit the shuttle cock your racket face must face the shuttle cock and then tap it face it tap it face it tap the advice of this technique is look face it block face it tap face it lift so you have all the options but if you don’t do that you are already committed one way of shot so changing grip hitting the shuttle cock same way change hit change hit no change – hit so I am already, do that when my face, racket face facing the shuttle cock I am not only holding the shuttle cock I am holding my opponent because once I do that they know all the options I have so they have to wait, I am not giving any signal indication what am I going to do to my opponent ok watch it, compare again face it tap it face it change mind face it lift compare to just go and hit I am not saying I can do that because I spend 40 years or more I have been teaching all different age groups all ability if player believe it and will and desire to do it they can do it I have seen it, some of them they change in 1 day ok now how to tap it tap hit the shuttle forward when your racket moves backward but I came across many times with club players because they are hitting shuttle forward and they have idea I must use wrist and they are forcing it like this they are forcing it forcing it like this because they want to kill it it looks like when you shave your face you should use blade but it looks like you are using ox or axe you are using axe to cut your hair here so look this is blade this is axe do not use axe to kill the bird use blade tap hit the shuttle forward, when your racket moves backward ok same, same idea hit shuttle forward when your racket moving backwards don’t use axe ok use sharp flash power I will give you impression, what kind of things you should imagine this is your friend, he does not know you are behind you want to surprise him then what would you do [boo] [boo] like that [boo] you wouldn’t try to surprise him [boooo] because he will not be surprised [boooo] no it should be [boo] hit shuttle cock like that [boo] ya tap another impression, lets say this is boiling kettle you want to check how hot that is would you touch and then like that no, if you do that it will burn you will do it, like that immediately touch it and you will move back that is the idea ok like that come closer watch this tap tap ok, not this way, this is burning hands technique rather than tap tap tap tap tap tap so look another benefit of doing that continue 2,3 times watch this you tap you are ready ok faster hit ready hit ready hit ready hit ready hit ready hit ready if you do that you can’t do that you can’t one more tap ready tap ready ready ready tap ready tap ready ready ready How to do brush net kill last one the brush when shuttle is not coming forward, coming down very tight so you can’t tap it, you might touch the net then you have to make little bit bigger swing slightly bigger but you make little bit sharper, with side ways preventing you to touch the net, watch this tighter what you are trying to do, when shuttle goes little bit up you must take it, when shuttle goes down too late you will hit the net, shuttle will hit the net that time, you have to hit it but when shuttle goes down like that then you can’t, you have to hit it upwards then they might kill it so too late ok, because of that when shuttle is coming like that watch my racket here even you do little bigger swing brush you have to go to the shuttle and then touch ok look go touch not here and then do that, it takes too big swing same backhand should go straight and then touch there not like this, ya its too big there there you are ready, your racket should be there and then hit it there hit not like this, too big backhand go hit go to the shuttle go to the shuttle – hit not there – like that You can access Follow Lee – Lesson 2 (The Defence) at Coachingbadminton.com Coachingbadminton.com Lee Jae Bok

  8. Thank you for your kind coment. Lee

  9. hello coach lee, how are you doing ? its me again . i want to ask you that do we need to coax our wrist for the backhand net kill too ? in order to brush the shuttle when its too tight after the spin net shot.

  10. Yes but not as much as forehand net kill. If you brush it is bit different to the tap kill. Yes wrist should be coax but the hitting action is different. Lee

  22. Thank you for your kind comment on the clip. Lee

  23. the trajectory in the second type is parallel to the court? couch lee

  24. I am very sorry but could you reword your question more detail please. Lee

  25. I meanwhen we make a drive shot, the shuttlecock should go flat?because the second and third type is hard to hit like that(the speed is lower maybe

  26. Yes drive shot should go flat. sharpness and flatness is more important in drive rather then power. If shuttlecock is bit lower then net then you should add more push feel to it. Lee

  27. 01:20 – So excited. Yes! Good chance, they make too big swing.
That is so totally me LOL!!!

  28. So now you can change it to smal and sharp action. Lee

  29. Hi Lee – I've been watching your videos every lunchtime at work over the past week or two – and they've really helped my return to club level badminton after several years of no playing! Just wanted to say thank you very much for allowing such detailed instruction to be openly available! I'm hoping my wife has picked up on the hints I've been dropping, and that she's got me one of your DVDs for Christmas!

  30. I am very pleased to know that my clips are helping you. Thank you very much for taking time to post your comment. Please send my regards to your wife for purchasing my DVD for you. Lee

  31. This is a great video. Is it possible to add more caption or subtitle to more of your videos? Thanks.

  32. I am planning to put english sutitles and Chinese subtiles to all the clips. I am doing it but it will take some time to do it all. Lee

  34. Thank you very much for your kind comment. I am very pleased to know. Lee

  35. @mauro lopesmarziano agree with u there

  36. that is really awesome how you do the net kills like that i can't wait to try and start working on doing a net shoot like that
    thanks lee

  37. I am sure that you can do that too. Just believe your self and keep practice and practice. Lee

  38. Wow lee! I can't wait till tomorrow morning to try doing this.

  39. I hope it works for you. When you try new skill, you must totally believe it and do it with 100% positiveness. Good luck. Lee

  40. hi, coach lee.. i'd been practicing lot from your clip and i've found my skill is improve to a whole new level and i thank you for that..peace.. i'm from malaysia 🙂
p/s :i wonder what is your racket tension in this video?

  41. I am very pleased to know that you have improved with my clips. Thank you for letting me know. The tention was about 25-6. Lee

  42. thank you for the video, they are all great… when you are using the net kill, are you stilll using the neutral grip and shifting your wrist position so racquet faces the shuttlecock and just tightening and tapping on point of contact.. this is the opposite of the smash when you need to tilt the racquet 10% correct and change grip.. not just wrist.? correct? thanks ray

  43. When you do forehand net kill you may need to turn 20% and turn wrist too. But for smash same but just 10% change grip and turn wrist. Lee

  44. hi coach, i have a Q.
When i want to brush the shuttle, should the racquet face slightly downwards when hitting the shuttle? and also i have seen some very good net player play a net brush even when the shuttle had already drop below the net tape, his racquet is erected and faced slightly downwards when hitting, but he actually lift his whole racquet upwards( still erected, but upwards) and end up like a fast downwards net block, how did he do that? thank you.

  45. Your racket face should be upward/foreward. If you move your racket in this way sharp then neven your racket movement is a bit upward the shuttlecock will be moving downward. Yes you are right even when shuttlecock goes down bit lower then the net top you can still do it.. Lee

  46. excuse me Mr Lee I am French and I don't understand 100% english, could you please add the subtitle?

  47. At the moment I can not but please let me know if anyone who you know may be. Lee

  48. sir i'hv been playing badminton since 3 years now hv learnt B-clear and many more by ur coaching/guidelines.thank u but 1 thing lacking is tht what to do When shuttle comes to deep volley box ?
whether to hit a toss or smash to cross court?

  49. This is very difficult to advise as there are many factors why you have to choose a shot in each situation. Are you in position, is your opponent is in position or off balance, is your opponent expect you to smash? How deep, how flat or high, are got behind shuttlecock or shuttlecock is behind you. All depending on these you have to select the best shot at that moment so each time the shot can be different. The best way is you to try different shots and learn from it. Lee

  50. I have been playing it all wrong this time D:

  51. I very hope you to improve. Lee

  52. Thanks for the encouragement

  53. You are very welcome. Lee

  54. Sir , may I know which is the racquet that u r using . Which is good one ? I have carlton . What's ur suggestion for buying a racquet .?
    Thanks Sir

  55. I am using my own named racket. It is difficult me to say so. You have to try and feel it your self is the best way to select one. Lee

  56. Thanks for ur advice sir !

  57. You are very welcome. Lee

  58. Sir , May I know if there is/are any video of urs for trick/fake shot . I did find many in youtube of others . But , I feel very comfortable with the way you teach . SO plz let me know sir !

    Thank u for ur kindness

  59. There are few but I am going to make more in the future. Thank you. Please look for deceptive net shots. Lee

  60. 코치님 강의 정말 잘 듣고 있습니다ㅜㅜ

  61. 감사합니다. Lee

  62. Love it! Thanks very much!

  63. thank you very much 🙂 it helps me a lot , your video are awesome, I can see a radical change when i play 😀
I hope in the future i will  be able to play without thinking about posture and hit moves.

  64. wow excellent tip.. !! pls upload more  in cross drop shot and tricks 🙂

  65. Thanks a lot for the wonderful videos Mr.Lee, we have started coaching our new players based on your instructions – JUGNU Badminton Club – Ghala, Muscat.

  66. These videos are a real treasure for all badminton players. Thank you!!

  67. Great! Thank you.

  68. the analogy about the power shots  i.e axe and boiling kettle made me smile and realise that is what i been doing… great video and a great understanding about the game and i try to learn more of badminton from your videos.. thanks for doing these great videos.. truly helpful for an amateur like me…

  69. One good thing of your videos are there is a slow motion to understand how you are changing the posture on your racquet .

I am really happy you are doing this . i will practice your moves when i go for playing this weekend.

  70. Mr Lee, for me I tend to use backhand grip to do a net kills unless the shuttle is too far right, which then I'll use the forehand grip. I seldom use the panhandle grip which you show for the forehand netkill. Is it a bad habit that I should rectify to improve my net kill shots? I do it because I find that my back hand grip produces crisper netkills than my panhandle shots.

  71. Mr Lee, your clip is great but my english….not good. Can you get english subtitle in your clip?….thank you. Your clip :Follow Lee (2) The Net Kill 2-3 ; 2-4; 2-5 ;2-6 ; 2-7….not subtitle…I wait you…thank.

  72. Thanks Mr Lee…for your sub…

  73. MR. THE THE CLIP IS VERY IMPRESSIVE AND VERY GOOD TIP FOR PLAYERS. THANKS A LOT

  74. the net kill is one of my weak shot but you have coach me well. great vid coach!

  75. Thank your very much mr.lee, really good explanation. [email protected]

  76. When you do something wrong at the court, go back home and watch these videos. Its like going back to the classroom to check the basics. Excellent tutorials and next best thing to classroom coaching. I am really thankful.

  77. it makes me laugh when ….he show the wrong shots..😂😂😂

  78. hay học được rất nhiều thanks

  79. if i do a net shot my opponents responds me in the form of another net shot or a forehand lob which i am unable to respond what should i do

  80. many times i get so exited and misses the chance of a net kill ,now i got the answer why.thanks sir for the video

  81. Sir i try but can't hold the shuttle. I try to hold but it comes too close to hit. May b m too much slow. So what to do to make it perfect?

  82. Sir can i play brush tap in low service return in doubles?

  83. You have put your soul into coaching, Coach Lee – Thanks for sharing this technique – Bless you !

  84. Very precise descriptions…some details complement other videos in this series re how to net kill. Students pay attention to these details to obtain benefits.

  85. Yes..the brush technique is amazing…Never seen anything like this before. Kind of like a top spin in table tennis except with the shuttlecock, it’s possible to lift it up slightly with this action. Amazing.

  86. This is the perfect video to correct my mistakes for net play, feel like i found the right pill for my damn cold, thanks a lot sir for great videos and explanation that serves as a badminton reference !! indeed to be a patron

  87. Your a great teacher. Keep up the good work

  88. Dear Coach please suggest me the string tension for good smash(i'm intermediate player).
Some people say the tighter the string, the harder is smash. some say loose string will give more power.

  89. Respected LEE Sir !
You are the BEST, the way you show " the wrong way" & " the right way" is something other don't do, which in turn helpful for us to compare & learn well.
The analogies that you use for all your teachings is like THUMB RULE to remember & to aply actually on the 🏸 court.
There is no match for your excitement level & to your urge to teach.
Yours is the RIGHT WAY !☺️

WE ALL WILL ALWAYS WILL BE THANKFULL TO YOUR COACHING☺️. LOVE FROM 🇮🇳

    #That way ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

  90. This was really helpful. I've always attempted to do net kill but I don't know how. I always ended up doing either clear/lift shots or a power net kill but always hitting the net.. Thank you for this tutorial !

  91. Excellent coach. Hats off to you

  92. Which racket do you use, Sir?

  93. Thank you best tip

  94. you are great teacher. thank for your free coaching
