  1. it is depending on the time availability at the time. Yes it is better to have a flaction time stop then hit but it is not always possible as the fl;ick is deceptive and fast. Your body should not turn too much that may cause problem for you to lose your balance. Lee

  2. Coach how about defending from the drive serve. It's so difficult to return them especially in doubles when you are very near the net when waiting for the service.

  3. I see, I forgot to make that clip. I will put that on my list and thank you for suggesting the clip. Lee

  4. those kids dont look very natural when they play….. too "in the box" coaching

  5. Great coaching. What are the feet movement when the serve is to the left corner of the left court in doubles ??Is it best to use a backhand return ??

  6. coach Lee, how to return when shot is behind you and it is backhand..?please reply…thank you…!!

  7. all the receiving shots are nearly at half court O.o

  8. Yes you are right. You have good eyes. IThis clips is to show and to help thye players who never done it. If they train they can take deeper shots. Thank you for posting your comment. Lee

  9. Try this. 1. do not chase it straight line to the shuttlecock 2. follow the shuttlecock on your left side, shuttlecock is should be on your right side 3. you must create space between you

  10. and the shuttlecock. 4. hit with compact hitting action with wrist not full arm. 5. Most importantly you must believe you can do it. Please try and let me know how you got on with it. Lee

  11. NO you should not take it backhand. try to take it forehand and you can do it. If you take backhand you are already losing. Lee

  12. hey where do u stay

  13. wow great solution, i never thought before. thank you

  14. I am in canada "Lees badminton Club" Lee

  15. I am please to know. Lee

  16. Only recently I started to watch your video, and I have to say I learned so much from you. I always believe that no matter what age we are now, we can still improve provided we believe in ourselves. I started to have a significant improvement only 6 years ago (I am 46 now), and I am still improving. Many don't even believe they can stil improve when they hit 40. Yes, Coach Lee, totally agreed with u that how we set๏ปฟ our mind right is very important in training.

  17. my first impression when i watch both of the player…argh…they are noob…but, once they play with shuttle!!!!!…damn!!!!..i am really noob!!!!…please train me coach…

  18. Pleasde view the clips and let me know if you have any questions about the clip you view. I would be very happy to help you. Lee

  19. Why do you need extra 2 steps that's waste time right? can't you go straight on moving backwards? do most professionals use this 2 extra steps? I know it helps the timing but is it neccessary if you could get the right timing?

  20. Depending on the hight of opponent flick there is time player need to two steps. You are right most of time it requires one step to push when the flick goes flat and fast. No step one is not good as player can not push off. These clips are aimng all defferent level of players and situation and I am giving the possible information. You can select the one suit you most. But i do understand your point and it has got point too. Lee

  21. i love your smash shots. It has my smash shots a lot.thank you very much and i love this video.i hope i could be like u one day.

  28. Coach.. sorry to ask… how can i add more power when smashing … because my coach always complains when i smash…

  29. 1. make impact point in front of your body
    2. use your power in front of your body not above your head
    3. make hitting action faster then bigger
    4. Please view my smash related clips and try it

    Good luck.

    Lee

  30. tq coach…and you are good coach.

  36. hi coach i'm new to badminton but have been playing tennis for many years. i realised that the footwork for tennis overhead smash and this is very similar. however i did not learn the footwork using this step by step method but naturally with practice. the result is a much more fluid motion. just wondering if it important to stamp so hard on the ground for each step for badminton? or can i do it in a relaxed way like in tennis?

  37. You can do it in relaxed way as long as the timing and balance of each step is right. I delivertly make it clear for the people to see each action. Lee

  38. Hi coach Lee…๏ปฟ You are so great. I'm just starting playing badminton. My boyfriend is so good at it. I hope i can be like him too…
thanks for all the tutorials/clips…. They are soooooooooooo helpful..
    Keep it up. ๐Ÿ™‚

  39. Thank you very much for your kind comment. I am sure you can be as good as your boy friend.
Just keep try hard then you will improve step by step. Lee

  40. coach i wan to know, my uncle always serve a backhand service, its low ,fast and its go behind
is there any way to return that back ?

  41. Change your grip to pan handle grip (make racket face to the shuttlecock already. Put your racket up where the shuttlecock will fly. Turn your chest, face and racket face to the shuttlecock already. Let me know how you got on. Lee

  42. same if he service at my backhand?

  43. Yes it is same if he does fast flick serve. Lee

  44. It should be on the balls then you can move straight way. If you do toes then you have to go down to ball to push off so it takes longer. As you can push off by toe as it is too weak. Lee

  45. Hey Lee, i was taught to lead with your power foot, Meaning, if ur right handed, u use right foot as ur power and u use that foot to guide u in all ur footwork and it should always lead. But in all your videos, its the opposite of the power foot.

  46. Shuttle can go right and left side and there are many different situations. It is not possible to do same way movement all the time. Some time right foot should lead but there are other times left foot should lead in my view. Lee

  47. Tip-Toe ready position works when you play a proper game with service judge. For recreational purpose, different players will have different ways of serving, some which may be illegal. Therefore, it doesn't really matter what stance as long as you can return those illegal serves.

  48. You're right, right foot always lead if you're right handed and you're attacking. Defensive positions are different when the shuttle is going down on your left or right, and depends on the distance gap between the touching point of the shuttle, you will need to use the shortest and most efficient movement with whichever foot you find most comfortable to retrieve the shuttle in order to minimize the reaction time for your opponent.

  49. You are perfactly right. We do not know what kind of service my opponent may do so we must have posture to be able to return both servioce best posible way. And the posture I showed in here is the one. Lee

  50. Hi coach Lee ,I am brazilian and I watch your videos, they helped me with the training.Thank you for everything.

  51. I have never been there but I would like to visit there one day in the near future. Thank you for your comment and I am very pleased to know. Lee

  52. You are not even serving using backhand. You are using forehand.

  53. Hi coach Lee and others,

  55. Hi! Sir, i can't express how much have your videos helped and being help to my training. Salute for your selfless help.
Lately i've injured my Wrist (maybe because of excess exerted pressure but i'm not sure)
since two months & still have pain even after wax bath(went to physiotherapist for 2 days (he was not a sport specialist though)).
what kind of protection would u suggest me or exercise i must follow according to u,also how to recover from that injury?pls anyone with suggestion are welcome.

  56. Hey! i'm a decent badminton player & train with my university fellows.i play both doubles & singles.I don't have exceptional wrist but good at smashing yet not so good with techniques(trying to learn).I've to buy Best badminton racket within the budget of 150-200$. Looking for Yonex/Li Ning or Maybe victor although i haven't had chance to try victor, had good experience with yonex nanoray 600 & li ning n55.If somebody is aware of any helpful information pls suggest best for me.
    Thanks in advance.

  57. You have to rest to recover otherwise it may stay much longer. Ones its got recovered then slowly make stronger by using different training but do it slowly. Lee

  58. There is technically no "best" badminton racket out there. Everyone has different preferences, from light rackets for fast play styles, to heavy rackets to feel the control and for good placement. So it pretty much depends on what type of feel you like. My coach has tons of rackets and he keeps trying new ones seeing which ones he like the most. Hope this helps!

  78. hi, i am a new batminton player 16 years old and looking for clubs tht i can practice. Lee do you know where i can find clubs or where do u teach. I am in Ontario

  79. Hi I have a small doubt while playing when opponent returns till how long we need to notice or keep looking atย theย shuttle? Is it till the shuttle impact with your racket or before we should remove our eyes and need to concentrate on placing areas?

  80. I played badminton again after 2 years and your coaching is what made my play come back. Difference is that last 2 years ago I don't do "Step One" because my coach didn't teach me that. After watching your video and putting "Step One" into play it helped me improve so much compared to before. Thank you so much Coach Lee!

  81. I just had one question to ask. How should we move in our court while playing doubles? I always end up in wrong position and pressurizing my partner, like this we lose points! Whats your advice?

  84. sir i am intermediate player of
age 14 years. I took coaching from siri fort, new delhi, delhi, india for now i discontinued for now i am confused to select which badminton racquet to buy. Can you please suggest me one?

  85. Dear Coach Lee,
Ohh goodness, I never knew you answer doubts as well. This is good. U r a good coach, credits to you for all of my achievements in badminton. Thank You.
I want to ask some questions also,
how a backhand flick service should be returned in singles? how good is this service?
and how to return forehand drive serve? as my height is 6 ft i find it a bit difficult to return as the height of the shuttle remains low in the service and the shuttle passes near to backhand shoulder.
    Thank You.
    Ankit from India ๐Ÿ™‚

    ,
In doubles , how to move into position after a rear court player during a front-back combination plays a drop (cross / straight) , who should go in , if the reply is also a drop. If possible do a clip on this.
