  5. Coach, what should I do if the shuttlecock goes far back, close to the second baseline (playing singles).. How many steps do I go back? I see I lose a lot of power because I don't the steps right… Great video, thank you v much for your care for the game!

  13. Thanks for your good explanation of why I should do the hop in the second step. However, I have a question here. Do you mean that if I want to move backward to hit the shuttlecock, I should do step one first and then hop whichever foot that is in the same direction as the shuttlecock? For example, if the shuttlecock flies to my left, then I hop my left foot; if the shuttlecock flies to my right, then I hop my right foot? Does this "foot hopping" rule applies to the situation where I want to hit the shuttlecock that is dropping in front of my body too?

  15. Every video I learn something new, seems like when the game pace fasten I am not able to be as smooth is because I am not doing the second step. Will try it tomorrow on court hopefully it can increase the body flow. My friend said they visited C2 and saw you last Friday, hopefully I can get a chance to visit soon. Thank you as always

  16. is this not a too much of an exaggeration, if the shuttle is too flat to the back hand can you not just do a bigger slip and slide step and turn less

  20. I have a big doubt.

    If I use the method taught by this video, then I couldn't recover myself for the next. It takes a lot of time to come back to the centre.
    But if use the turning method, I can recover myself easily without any trouble.

    But the method taught by the coach gave me good power in my shots, but I couldn't recover myself soon, thus my opponent make me run around the court.

  21. Good lesson but the actual play may not allow perfect step always. Sometimes you have to eliminate steps to catch opponents off guard on timing like LYD.
