ALFRED REFT: “They’re out in jerseys, in front of a crowd, it’s a big thing for us. Getting some of those preseason jitters out for a lot of our young ones is always a good thing in this Orange and Blue Scrimmage. Cleary there are things were going to keep working on in terms of our systems, and getting players more comfortable with one another, but I think that’s true of any season, and that’s jsut where were at.” ASHLYN FLEMING: “I think were doing well all around, I think we were kind of blocking a lot of balls and like getting good touches so we could transition them. I think it was competitive on both sides, you couldn’t really tell we were fighting back and forth, so I think that was really good no team let up, we just kept fighting.” NOT ON THE COURT TONIGHT — GATORADE HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL PLAY OF THE YEAR LAST YEAR — ELLIE HOLZMAN… SHE’S OUT FOR THE SEASON WITH A KNEE INJURY… BETH PRINCE ALSO UNABLE TO PLAY… AND ST THOMAS MORE GRAD MICA ALLISON WAS UNABLE TO PLAY DUE TO AN ANKLE INJURY… THE SEVERITY IS YET TO BE KNOWN — BUT ALLISON WAS WALKING FINE TONIGHT WITHOUT A BOOT OR CRUTCHES… MICA ALLISON: “It’s frustrating for anyone when you go down, but it happened for a reason, I don’t know what that reason is right now, but everything happens for a reason in my mind, and I still am on the side kinda setting on the bleachers and stuff, and I’m still around, I’m still in the gym watching everything go on so I’m still learning and everything.” ILLINOIS OPENS THE SEASON FRIDAY NIGHT AT TENNESSEE… ((CRAIG)) WE ARE EXACTLY ONE WEEK AWAY FROM KICKOFF FOR THE ILLINOIS FOOTBALL TEAM..
