Arsenal news: Unai Emery praised by Sky Sports pundit making Sir Alex Ferguson comparison

But Sky Sports pundit Liam Rosenior has liked what he’s seen from the former Paris St-Germain boss so far  The Gunners lost 2-0 to Manchester City and 3-2 to Chelsea in their opening two Premier League fixtures  Emery demanded his side play out from the back against City, a plan which provoked former England manager Sam Allardyce into calling the tactics ‘stupid’  But against Chelsea, Arsenal began to improve, fighting back from 2-0 down to 2-2 before eventually losing to a late Marcos Alonso goal  Rosenior has been impressed that Emery has stuck to his guns despite the high level his side’s first two opponents  “What I’ve seen from Unai Emery in the first two games is really encouraging,” Rosenior told The Debate on Sky Sports  “Forget the results, he’s laying down the foundations and laying down the process of the way he wants to play  “And I think given time he can be a success at Arsenal, but only if he’s given time ”  Emery signed predominantly defensive players this summer after Arsene Wenger spent over £100m on two strikers in the last two transfer windows  And Rosenior drew comparisons with one of the greatest managers in the history of the game  former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson needed time to set his structure in place before dominating English football for two decades  “I think this is a season of transition [for Arsenal],” Rosenior added when asked what constitutes a successful first season in charge for Emery  “I’m tired of the media pressure on managers when they come into a job. “I look back to Sir Alex Ferguson It took him five years to get his club to where he wanted it to be. “And they had 20 years of consistent success after ” Arsenal face London rivals West Ham on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium (3pm).
