presented by the parliamentary opposition to tackle the country’s crime
problem the proposals include an end to the
state of emergency the opposition says this will allow the security forces to
increase the department of personnel to crime hotspots opposition spokesman on
national security of its Jackson believes the proposed anti-crime
measures can be effectively implemented we have put forward proposals scrap ESO
is put in static police military courts in the various communities that we come
to the hot spot we are call on the government to make more police mobile so
that they can carry out investigation in the areas that are so in need of such
policing on the ground and of course I have a call and appeal and the
government to pay the police as some and I want our basis given the extraordinary
circumstances that the government has caused them to work on with the overuse
of the SOE those are just some steps that can be done to ameliorate the
situation they won’t solve it overall but these are contributing solution the
Jamaica Constabulary force jcf is this afternoon encouraging the public to
report all incidents no matter how small they are also calling on citizens to be
extremely vigilant while traversing the roads during the holiday period members
of a jcf gave these and other tips at a recent das forum this time of a year is
often plagued with robberies and attacks however the police receive less reports
now in this age of social media citizens instead go online to share the incident
head of the jcx Constabulary communications unit CCU Senior
Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay says sharing on social media is not enough in
many instances we are not able to confirm those reports because those are
not reported to the police we hear them so we will still pay attention to them
because it’s information coming to us but what we really want is to encourage
process to report these instant incidents don’t make the
assumption because that they are minor incidents and the police is not going to
find that the item or we’re not going to solve the case
so you don’t report it she says data coming from the courts show that more
convictions are being made for minor crimes which are reported as such
citizens are being encouraged to report and take matters all the way now Road
Safety is also another major concern for the jcf especially at this time of the
year head of operations at the public safety and traffic enforcement branch
piece Deb superintendent Courtney Cooper II highlighted some accident hot spots
which motorists must bear in mind the Spanish stone bypass accident prone
areas olav a main road accident prone as well we have the not salt
I we we have frequent accidents happening when descending that slope
close to the mom and be around about he also flagged the Washington Boulevard
and the recently upgraded Mandela Highway as another set of hotspots
superintendent cool breeze reminding motorists obey the rules of road and
drink responsibly especially in this period where a number
of parties and events take place local ICT company geotech vision has carried
out its plan to take legal action against a to an entity elearning in
jamaica geotech vision is challenging the termination of a contract it
received from elearning jamaica to supplying devices under the tablets in
schools program in an update to a new center last night ICT project manager at
geotech vision stephen Wedderburn confirmed that the matter is now in
court we are pursuing all available means in order to get this thing settled
as quickly as possible at this point it looks as if we are going to be going
into arbitration court-appointed arbitration and we you know we wait and
see what happens but geotech vision contends that there
is no merit to the decision by elearning jamaica to end at a contract in october
EAL earning Jamaica said it terminated geotech visions contract because the
samples a company provided did not meet specifications giatec vision said the
tablets were already built when the termination letter was issued it says an
initial tranche of 1000 tablets were delivered under the tablets in schools
program or Shane masters and it’s time for a break but stay with us some more

delivered under this contract as I had said that is valid at just under a
billion dollars kaliesha Williams TV Jennings regional director for the

  1. Yes we need more police ? patrolling the streets day and night, but paying them more to do there job I fail to agree with that, SOE has lost it it’s meaning over the years.

  2. Jamaica need speed cameras all over the island

  3. The nation is under attached bye a monster

  4. Police need to go overseas and learn how to do investigation

  5. The JLP and the police can’t control the crime at all in Jamaica wow that’s so bad real bad

  6. So why when the PNP was in power they didn't do that

  7. I will give this advice again ,it will get worse seek international intervention seek outside Help ,
Minister of security Dr Chang , and Minister Anderson your measures have not worked , and will not work the level of illegal guns on the island you are out of your depth , get outside help then formulate the plan to clean up Jamaica ?? god bless Jamaica

  8. Bet when Andrew start campaign in his little green shirt, every rally your going To hear how much jlp has done for crime

  9. cameras hidden and unhidden all over Jamaica ?? ?

  10. They said "VYBZ KARTEL" was the reason for the high crime rate in the island….dwll well look at that now???? He won't be a scape goat for y'all corrupt govt regime to cast the blame on for your "no crime fighting strategies" smh

  11. Police just a drive around we need Police dogs to search bushes and we need door to door search.

  12. The government dont have the INTELLIGENCE, and dem need to swallow dem pride and ask for outside help people are dying like flies.

  13. Too much guns loose out there and the Police not finding dem. Search the bushes and the cemetery.

  14. Our mentality is the problem, go plant foot

  15. 6 real out here law boss uno ah diss??????

  16. Only we can fight crime

  17. As a member of law enforcement in USA, the Government have no intention of getting rid of crime, it’s not that hard too much guns in the country we know that most of them comes from USA why can’t Jamaica ask the US who these guns last belong to and who where they sold to. Easy right but the Jamaica government have no balls to ask the right question almost every gun can be trace.

  18. Drastic situations need drastic measures. Too many people are being murdered. Dr Horace Chang needs to be replaced, hanging needs to be re- instituted. The morale of the security forces seem to be at an all time low. more advanced training, equipment and personnel need to be provided. Our beautiful little country should not be over runned by gunmen and other criminals. This is very counter productive to our growth and. development.

  19. Coke head Alli go sit down you and your government if guh one side .and you set of fools a talk bout PNP never do the crime situation never tun up su like this so shut you duck up a shame the whole a Unnu shame your prime minister say he and he alone can solved the crime problem

  20. Why do things have to reach a "crisis situation" before it's "being looked at" by the NATIONAL WORKS AGENCY. I am sure that the Wharf Road break away situation in MORANT BAY, ST, THOMAS did not occur over night. Those old tires have been placed there for as long as I can remember (maybe about 30 years) while erosion is taking place and the main road leading from Kingston to Port Antonio is being undermined. I really don't know what being looked at means. Is the N .W. A. waiting for a bus load of our poor country people to drop more than 30 ft. In the sea below and die before something is done????

  21. Too much corruption going on in this country. All these state of emergency are waste of tax payer money because the security force don't have a crime plan. Most those high command Officer in the JCF need to go as all are currupt. Its a shame we can't find a crime plan to stop these killing in my beautiful country. Until we get rid of corruption this crime will never stop

  22. Only Obedience to the Laws of GOD ,GOD himself SAID 20 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

    13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

  23. These police love likes ,that is why crime can't stop in Jamaica they don't satisfy with their paychecks

  24. Why some people always try to spoil things if the casket is too big for the gave,, it’s their duty to adjust it they get paid to do so ,,it’s dose not matter if you have finish the job already it doesn’t fit so you adjust it ,, some people always buy on problems on themselves and make problems for other people

  25. No tips can not given to the police…as they can not be trusted! This is so sad!

  26. A system of elimination is the reasons for most murders, hitman is a business for folks who don't have reasonable jobs…if folks across the board applied human integrity stop lying and cheating people who trust them, most murders wouldn't occur…ALWAYS publish why someone is shot or killed…there is always solid reasons why, real badman don't waste shots on average people, they died because they f..ked with someone the most disrespectful ways that's why dem dead – eliminated

  27. Lord help our little Island, Jesus take the wheel.

  28. Fact: Jamaica is irredeemable study development progress no country in history comes back from such gross anarchy unless revolution. Jamaica is over

  29. I really blame the priminster for those people who are killing of the population of this country .people are very stress cannot get job , and life has not change since 1965. So it's no wonder people are killing for easy money , Why do they need police what are they doing about this, crime situation all I hear is talk talk ,if u cannot deal with the police they got why do we think they could be with more. The more police they get the more the crime rate rise. Are they just stupid are what. All I hear is gimme gimme, and keep on taking why are they not using their head and try to think like a criminal, I don't know for sure ,all those good police who are do their job another cricket police will kill. What a was of taxpayers money. Ur practical saying the criminals are more clever than the police. U people need to stop talking so much and think of strategy of how to solve those crime. Educate those police on this matter. No more guns will solve these killing .people will.( clever polishing will). It time for changes. Too many greasy people who just want but do nothing at all.

  30. Stephen Shaw how did you get that job I can bet it was a political appointment. If a contract is placed with contractor then there must be a timeline in which they start and complete the contract and there must be a follow up of quality checking the work carried out. That area of road way has been like it for years it takes years for that kind of erosion to take place so, the NWA which is one of the worst entity we have here in Jamaica is clearly showing that management who are employed by this entity are incompetent and needs to be replaced.

  31. How many times I keep advocating that we alone within Jamaica cannot solve this crime crisis that the politicians of country has instigated and is still currently exploiting. I have said why don't we get outside help, not so long ago we use to have military exchange programs with both UK and Canada I am not sure if this is still in place. If it is then why can't the Prime Minister who is Commander in chief of the security forces and the national security minister negotiate with the respective Governments to seek deployment of say, for example, a contingent of Gurkas in the mountain view area as they are a different proposition you will not see them, and you will not see them sitting by the road side on chairs sleeping like the JDF soldiers. We would like to see just how bad the men of that area is when the Gurkas are in operation. We need some form of outside help as crime is totally out of control. The SOE is not doing or is it effective in doing what it should do. The fight against corruption is ineffective as we are not seeing politicians or public officials who are heading up the corruption in this country going to prison.

  32. Is it just me , or is it that the news is recorded on a low volume?

  33. We can blame the police and government.
But the people are the solution. In each of these neighborhoods; people including family members knows who the shooters are. But the mentality is they will not "snitch". So the criminals gain confidence and get more bold with their activities because they know they will not be caught.

There must be cooperation between the security forces and the population.

  34. if unu nuh control di violent dancehall music unu not goin control crime weda unu believe it or not..violent music motivate criminals

  35. Comes January 1 its going to spike also. Thats how they start the year.

  36. Hang them!!!! It's the only solution.

  37. Advised motorist to drink responsible, the advised should don't drink and drive ,drink and drive kills omg these people of position ,lord help we

  38. How are the guns getting into the country?

  39. Thoughts and prayers going out to everyone in Jamaica. Condolences to the families and friends who are moaning.

  40. ISAIAH 9: v16
For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
    Matthew 7: v15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (An end times forecast about-Leaders of the Day…).

    Bible says, now this:
Proverbs 14: v34 – Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. (People all over the World are taken notice!).

The standardizing of the country, standards is how much people, the year previously been Kill, to the present YEAR. I ponder, what type of conversation you Leaders’ have plan for the RESURRECTION Morning Daybreak?

Exodus Chapter 20: v13 – Thou shalt not kill.

  41. Government, unoo need fi tek note and si seh wah unoo a do naah work. Kmdt?????

  42. My god when is this going to stop

  43. When à black man take a gun and kill another person you can only blame him

  44. Such a shame, law makers should b so ashamed. They should b wearing brown paper bags on their faces. The worse part is that the perpetrators get away with their evil deeds n the victims families r left 2 suffer heartache, stress n financial burden of funerals.
